Dr. Thomas Mengel, born 1958, is an Associate Professor of Leadership at Renaissance College, University of New Brunswick. In addition, he enjoys working as coach, consultant and trainer on project management and leadership for private companies and public organizations, especially in an international context. He teaches project management online within the MBA program of the Centre for Innovative Management at Athabasca University. He also teaches leadership at the School of Public Administration of the University of Victoria and within the Master of Arts in Leadership Program at Trinity Western University. His clientele especially appreciates him for being an effective and supportive coach and leader, a good listener and an integrative communicator.

The model of Values-Oriented-Leadership, he developed as leader and coach, has been adapted by many other leaders and companies. Thus, in many organizations he helped to create a meaningful and successful work and project environment. While managing, consulting and coaching various different projects he created his unique approach of ProjectCoaching on how to successfully kick off, control and finish the strategically important projects. Consequently, he coached project sponsors and project managers on how to concentrate on the important strategy, change and business projects and on how to successfully complete them on time, on budget and within scope. The results of his research and implementations are being presented internationally to a wide public and published in several articles and books.

Altogether he has 20 years of experience as trainer, consultant, coach, project manager and manager in several Canadian, German and international organizations (e.g. Philips, Siemens, UBS, Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, Retallack Alpine Adventures Ltd., Retallack Resort Ltd., Syngenta, Provincial Government of BC, Selkirk College).

His academic background encompasses theology, psychology and adult education (Dr.theol., Dipl. Paed., Bamberg, Germany), business administration and computer science (Dipl. Inform., Hagen, Germany) and history (M.A., UofT, Canada). His major professional affiliations are the Project Management Institute and the Coachville Graduate School of Coaching.

Being the founder and president of Integral Consulting, based in Pondstream, NB, he is also co-owner and former member of the board of Retallack Resort Ltd., a skiing and summer resort in BC’s snow belt, offering seminars and summer retreats.
